Cynthia Rodriguez gave birth to her second daughter last night in Miami. Alex is in Miami with her, though published reports had said that he was in Chicago with the team. Due to his strained right quad, it is unlikely he would have started at third tonight anyway, so Mrs. Rodriguez took it upon her shoulders to give birth while he was probably going to be out anyway. How awesome is that?
Here is their statement, released by the Yankees: “We are thrilled with the birth of our second daughter and the blessings of having two healthy and beautiful children in our lives.”
